Another impressed new person LLL

Hello everyone - Just wanted to say 'hi' and comment on what a wonderful find this site has been .

I have done things as little backwards here by submitting a question first instead of introducing myself - well here I am now about to rectify that .

I am new to fly fishing and already feel pulled by the enchantment of this ancient sport. I reside in Newfoundland and will be fishing the Humber fairly soon - I am told the salmon licences will be out tomorrow - hooray .

For my first set up I went for a Fenwick GT Eagle 8wt rod and a Fenwick 'iron 78' reel - anyone had any experiences with either bit of equipment? For line I went with Cortland 444 wf-8-f.

Well like I said I can't wait to get started although I am probably looking at one mighty learning curve !

Welcome to the forum. You should be able to find someone in your neck of the woods who fly fishes. If you can it will cut way down on your learning curve.

Welcome to the group! I'm sure you'll enjoy fishing in your beautiful part of the world. The set-up you've procured sounds like a good one, but I bet you'll want to add a sink tip or sinking line to your arsenal.
