Young Fly fisher

Hello,

I my name is Joseph, I am 15 years old. I typically go bass fishing. However, my Dad and I have decided to get into fly fishing. I have started tying my own flies and I have started doing some pretty good quality flies. We will fish in East North Carolina. My Dad used to go when he lived in Maryland. He would go to limestone creeks in Pennsylvania. I have all the basics of casting down now I just need to go fish. Hope to get a little help on a few things.

Thanks,
Joseph Hardin

Hi Joseph,

Welcome to the forum and fly fishing. Glad to have you aboard. Just jump in and ask any thing you need help with. A fly rod is also pretty good at catching Bass and Pan fish.

Frank

Welcome to the group and the sport! Sounds like you are off to a great start.

Frank is right about fly tackle working very well for bass and sunfish as well.

I'd rather hunt fish than bait deer any day.
