Default Hello from British Columbia, Canada

Winter has set in where I live and we are relegated to either ice-fishing as far as fishing in concerned, or other winter activities like snowmobiling, skiing etc.
(Casting a fly into a 6inch augered ice hole can certainly sharpen up your pin-point casting skills...we don't really do that..just a feeble attempt at humor.....)
I live in the south central part of the province and to do some serious steel-heading, a bit of travel is in order. In 4 or 5 hours if the urge is real strong, I can be fishing for coho salmon or steelhead in the southwestern and warmest part of the province for this time of year.
Just wanted to introduce myself to the users and fellow fly fishers who use and enjoy this site.
Semi-retired active guy who fishes 60 to 70 days per year. I have 3 different boats that I fish out of and presently looking for a fourth. Need to get a pontoon or other inflatable for fishing class II to IV waters...but that is a discussion for another thread.
I have been fly fishing for alot of years, but I am looking forward to picking up some tips on steelheading and floating rivers using inflatables.
Cheers, Dave

I've got a 10" auger so it's a bit easier. Welcome to the forum. Can't wait to see what you post from up there. You are in a great place for Steelhead.

uh, so, how many bedrooms did you say you had? If you're around Kamloops or Kelowna I'd imagine you could become very popular. Sounds like you're west of Fernie? My wife and I love it up your way and have visited several times over the years....welcome to the board...-Mike

Add my welcome to the others. Major difference is I'm a trans-planted Canuk here in Southern Oregon. Depending upon the distances involved you've got a lot of very good steelhead fishing to the south of you on the Clearwater, Snake, etc.

Thanks to all for the greetings. For those of you who are familiar with our province, I live between Kamloops and Kelowna near a large body of water called Shuswap Lake. I hope to share some British Columbia fishing experiences and further information regarding this great part of the world.
Now, I just need to learn how to install pics along with my posts, and we'll be off to the races. cheers, Dave

Someone will step up on the 'how,' it's pretty simple ... save for some of us 'older people' who can be best described as "Computer Inept." Do a quick search on photos and you'll get a quick over view. Two ways that come to mind: Up load her into the photo box here and then into your post. The other is via a on-line photo box and attach the URL (I think).

That aside, greatly looking forward to your photos, been years since I've 'been home.'
