Default Hello from Ohio

Howdy from NE Ohio. Be sure not to overlook the rivers in Central PA as some of them are dandies and within day trip distance (depending on where you are in the state of course).

Hi ghocevar, I live in the Cleveland area as well. In Pa I have fished more in the western end rather than central, just not familiar enough with central to fish it more. Webrx, great suggestion for largemouth bass and bluegills, I do fish quite a few ponds in the area during the summer. If I really think about it, there are so many different flyfishing opportunities here in the buckeye state that trying them all would take a lifetime. Steelhead, largemouth bass, bluegills, smallmouth bass, carp can all be caught regularly depending on the season within 20 minutes of my house. I hope to get out this weekend for steelhead, although high temps are going to be in the 20's.

Has anything backed off yet? I saw on the news the other night the Grand was just about to blow its banks then it got cold again. The Cuyahoga down this way is a total foam ball, alot of the old side channels that in 4 years never held a drop of water are now raging torrents.

Dress warm...The Chagrin should be fishing tomorrow but more likely Sunday...Its flowing at 775cfs right now and I like to fish it if it is at 450 or lower. I'll let you know if the better half lets me off the leash this weekend!

I went yesterday for a couple of hours. It was cold, 20 degrees, real slushy at the first river, and less slush at the second river so I got in some casting practice. Never touched a fish, but I wasn't expecting much, just wanted to get out. Flows weren't bad.
