It is the land shaped like a hand. Michiganders works, some people say Michiganians but that doesn't roll off the tongue quite as well.

Yes, we all do it, it's either the palm of right hand or you do the backhand on the left. I try not to but I've met people not from Michigan that have held up their hand and asked where I was from. Its kind of silly but to Michiganders it works well.

Good to hear the river is cleaned up. Those guys owe you all the ramps and improvement and upgraded infrastructure they do, and then more. That was way to close to getting into the
Lake.
