Yet another guy from VA

Good evening,

I've been fishing off and on since I was a kid. Since my boys are getting to the age where they can enjoy fishing, I'm harkening off into a new religion: fly fishing.

I've resisted as long as I could, but here I am. A group of friends and I take a semi-annual trip to WV for a weekend fishing trip. I was introduced to trout fishing in this way just last spring. Although I've outfitted myself with a couple of St. Croix spinning rods and Mitchell reels, I yearn for something more. I'm not "married" to St. Croix, but I really like their stuff. I'm not into paying alot for fly fishing, although that will probably change as time goes on.

I look forward to learning much and fishing even more.

Hope we can help you out on the new adventure, get those young'uns a goin too, they will love it.

Nothin wrong with St.Croix, they make good flyrods, and are reasonably priced too.

Welcome to the group! Might be time to teach the boys to tie, so you've got an endless source of flies. Clousers and Wooly buggers would be good to start with.

Axle, welcome. MORE TROUT FISHERS! I love it. I feel left out with all this Bluegill, Crappie, and Bass fishererers.
I have those species here, I just prefer Trout. Maybe in the future we can do a fly swap, that is a great way to get flies we have all tried and had good luck with.

I second the "nothing wrong with St Croix" They have a nice 10' 5wt. I was looking at, and the price is very decent.
