Introduction

Hello to everyone! I work for the U.S. Government and have been living between overseas postings and the States on and off for the past 25 years. I grew up fishing for bass and panfish in the south, using spinning rods and cane poles to ply the local waters. Overseas I have been blessed with living in warm climates and have been an avid deepwater fisherman (though never tried fly fishing). When I live in the states, I reside in Northern Virginia and my true love is going on the Potomac river and tributaries in my kayak and fishing for smallmouth bass and bluegills with a flyrod. I am not into putting a lot of time and effort into locating and catching the largest fish. Rather, due to my limited time off, happiness lies in getting away from people and having a good time catching fish (regardless of size) on flies I tie. Of course the experience is even better when I do catch a large fish! I look forward to talking with other members of the forum. Regards.

Hi indoglen,

Welcome to the forum. I hope where ever you are working you can post on the NAFFF. I understand how you feel about getting away from the crowds. I much rather catch fewer fish if I can be by myself.

Frank
