- Working on a paralegal degree while slaving away at a small law practice as secretary, IT guy, bouncer, taxi driver, and firearms expert. Low pay, low workload, no insurance, but I have the power to dictate occasional days off and more or less quit working every time the world cup or other big soccer tourneys are on. I grow heirloom tomatoes in the summer, regularly go bass fishing at a buddy's clubhouse (resident tree-hugger there amongst the uncaring), and basically spend every weekend I can out in the country. Mainly during fall/winter/spring, I hit the woods to keep my bushcraft and navigation skills brushed up, and help pass those skills on to others for a yearly muddy, miserable 9-day long wargame (www.operationeastwind.com). Yes, it has resulted in a pretty serious case of pneumonia, but bivouacking in single-digit temps makes you feel alive. I also play guitar, mandolin, fiddle, and harmonica (all poorly except the ol' blues harp...the neighborhood cats break out the torches and pitchforks when I tune up the fiddle)
