- I'm 23 and live in Brookline, MA.
I started fly fishing about 12 years ago for some trips to Colorado. After a break of about 10 years, I had a sudden urge to begin the sport anew and sure enough did just that. Since that time, I have done my share of tropic, fresh, and salt water fly fishing.
Last year, I purchased a float tube for fly fishing in my local ponds and rivers and was instantly hooked on the activity. Paired up with my new 2wt rod, I'm often found floating around, catching bluegill, crappie, and small LMB.
Very recently, I discovered carp were abundant in some of my neighboring waters and have since developed a strong addiction to carping. Although I have not had much luck, it is exciting even to get a take from these elusive fish.
In even MORE recent news, I have finally given in to my long awaited desire to start rod-building. My next rod in the lineup will be a 12'6'' 6wt, as I've been growing increasingly fond of spey rods and can't wait to give them a try in stillwater for LMB. Maybe, just maybe, I'll manage to hook a carp with one soon.
