Default Gunpowder River May 23

Just spent a nice evening on the Gunpowder despite the rain. Second time fishing there.

Arrived around 5:00PM and waited out the rain under the bridge at Massmore rd. Sulfur emerger got 3 tiny browns just after the rain around 6:30 in the riffles just above the bridge

Tried a wooly bugger in pools but got nothing.

About 7:30 PM sulfur hatch started and I moved to the snags and tree falls below the bridge. Sulfur dun #18 generated good action. Landed 4 browns and 1 rainbow that were at least of a respectable size but still small. By about 8:45PM the spinners were just starting but it was too dark to see what I was doing.

So... all in all a good day. No big fish but still fun. When the fishing is slow you can watch a very habituated pair of beavers.
