Potomac - Swain's Lock (lower section)
Right before the season shut down, I was able to wade Swain's lock. I made the mistake of moving too far downstream in an attempt to get over to fish the tip of Gladys Island. After working carefully out the rock ledges, I was cut off from really getting to the good parts by a huge deep hole. Worked it with nymphs and streamers, but kept pulling in all the weeds that were grown during the low flow - nothing to sweep them downstream with the drought.
I learned later that I should have waded a bit farther north - I'll try that next time.
Picked up some 12 in smallies and a flock of bluegills - so the afternoon was fun!
