Cabin Advice- Jackson River/Western MD

Hello!
My FF buddies & I are trying to get a spring trip together. We are relatively newbies and always struggle to find accommodations. We usually end up renting pricier cabins because those are the easiest to find and book on the web. The fishing is usually great, but those of us with families on a tight budget really feel the sting of these 3-night trips.
I am looking for any general suggestions, recommendations, etc. on how to find the “hidden gems” of cabin rentals. That magically fishing cabin you book every year. You know the type: private water out the back door, secluded enough for a guys’ w/e (maybe you can see other cabins, but you can’t hear them), and maybe some little perks that make your trip more memorable (hot tub, boot dryer, canoe, etc.). All for a price that won’t break the bank.
More specifically, this Spring we are looking at the Jackson River in VA or something in Western MD. If anyone knows of anyone or anywhere around those areas please steer us in the right direction.
Any and all advice is welcome. Including patterns and/or good holes for the Jackson or the big 4 in mid-May.
Thanks, ~k
