Default fly fishing the big or little Elk rivers

I live in Maryland, I fish the gunpowder river mostly for trout. I live near the big and little Elk rivers. I would like to fly fish them. Were do i start, wich river is better, i know the big elk is stocked sometimes. What would i expect to catch, fly's nymphs. Has anyone fished them. I'd like to hit one of them soon.
