Default backpacking and fishing

Good Afternoon Everyone -

I'm curious about opportunities in the Mid Atlantic area (I live in Baltimore) to do some backpacking and fishing. I'm looking for a 3-day trip (two nights) where I can fish on and off throughout the day while still having time to hike to my next sleeping spot.

Anyone know of anything like this? I was thinking there might be more options in PA, but I'm really not sure.

Lots of opportunity for that kind of thing in Shenandoah National Park. You can get detailed maps of all three sections of the Park from the Potomac Appalachian Trail Club (PATC). Lots of trails parallel streams and make circuit hikes by joining up with other trails. You would have the option of staying in one of the campgrounds on Skyline Drive and using that as your base of operations, or picking up a backcountry permit and exploring a particular drainage.

You could also hike the C&O canal and fish the Potomac.
