Default Any of you 'cure' eggs for river fishing? Go ahead and admit you chuck bait at times.

Ran across a reference to the following and it was an eye-opener. The most common cures (commercial) use Sodium Sulfite as a base product and this appears to be very harmful to small fish (read that toxic!). If you have the Oregon Fishing regs handy you'll even find a reference to this on page 34.

Good, but scary read .... stick to good old plain Borax.

Fred: That was a very interesting article, I'd sure like to know how it all comes out in the end. I know when I was in Alaska, a lot of bait casting folks used cured eggs for salmon fishing so it certainly sounds like a good idea for the manufacturers to voluntarily reduce or eliminate Sodium Sulfite.

"Things" move forward, we learn more, that was a good idea at the time ... but "That Puppy no longer Hunts?"

There will be more 'changes' in how we fish, or how we can fish? A good thing? No clue, but there will be changes (C&R only in the PNW because the runs are already in the toilet?

Next few years are going to be interesting.
