Default Middle East "River runs through it"?

I posted a link for this on the movie thread but thought I would repost here for those who haven't seen it. You can make your own judgement but from the trailer I think I might like to see this one. It's a book made into a movie coming in March called "Salmon fishing in the Yemen". here's the trailer:

I totally forgot...my sister gave me this book a few years ago and haven't read it yet. I'll have to go dig it out. Thanks for the reminder, and I look forward to the movie!

This film is being screened tonight in our international film festival... but they won't sell a ticket to the likes of me. milt.

Did something of this nature really happen or is this a fiction? I have often wondered about the streams that no doubt flow from the mountains in places over there and thought that if the people could let go of a seventh century lifestyle they might have some fun. As it is I wouldn't think too many there are tying flies.

We, the people of the United States along with some of our European friends are living in fly fishing heaven and it has always amazed me to think that even if I were to live to be 100 I will never get to all the places I would wish right here in America. I am however trying
