New article posted on theflyfishingforum.com : Spring Fly Fishing in Montana is Producing Big Results
So has anyone out there in forumland been out on the Madison or Yellowstone yet this year? How did you get on? |
Re: Spring Fly Fishing in Montana is Producing Big Results
I've fished both.. it's been good, not as great for me as this article suggests, but no complaints.
Caddis on the Madison on Tuesday were in full force |

Re: Spring Fly Fishing in Montana is Producing Big Results
For a while they thought runoff was starting early.. most watersheds are below average, some more than others.. Jefferson (Beaverhead, BigHole, Jefferson rivers)is the worst, i think it showed 55% on the news the other night?
Dean (I think) had posted a great link to watershed figures.. I'll have to dig that up It was 82 here yesterday.. it's snowing right now. go figure.. Sorry it was Larry: These reports don't match up to what the news had the other day.. These look better Good links: http://www.wrds.uwyo.edu/wrds/nrcs/u...update-mt.html http://waterdata.usgs.gov/mt/nwis/current?type=flow |

How's the Bighorn fishing now? I'll be heading out there in the middle of July.
& need an idea as what to expect. Flys, etc. Neil |
Re: Spring Fly Fishing in Montana is Producing Big Results
The Bighorn is at 2,000 CFS which is very low for this time of the year. It's going to be a low water year on the Horn.
