maybe I live on a different planet...but the folks that are trying to figure out how to put it all back together seem bit more needing my energy than anything else...

the hayman fire came withing 500 yards of our ranch...and I have nothing but sympathy and compassion for anyone that has lived through similar or even worse.

every ride to cheesman reminds me of that horror...and then my friends that lived through the fires last year in the springs...these natural disaters are not anything most are ever prepared for...

Colorado has ten thousand spots to fly fish...maybe I am just overwhelmed again at all the tragedy...but finding a place to fish is not on my mind at all right now...or the status of when the BT is OK again...for fishing that is...

what am I doing?? I am trying to sign on with an outfit as a heavy equipment operator to help out as much as I can...this mess will go on a lot longer than even the fires of late have...houses can be rebuilt...yes even a road or two...

this is something way bigger than that...t

Ted, I appreciate your compassion and your passion reaching out to help those impacted by the fire. I hope you don't think the rest of us don't care or view it only as a curiosity on the TV screen. Every day we learn about more homes and businesses ruined and, more significantly, lives uprooted and changed for ever. I work in a hospital with people impacted, some are colleagues and friends. Some of the lives impacted actually ended.

Asking questions about what will happen to the river and those that live in the river doesn't detract from concern from those who live on the land. Compassion, concern, and sympathy are not a finite pie from which each bit extracted for trout is somehow subtracted from people.

Thanks for the work you are going to be doing to help rebuild.
