Default Beaverkill 6 Apr

Made my first trip out with a flyrod today!! didn't catch anything but had a great time. I wasn't so much focused on catching something but i was more interested on my technique and learning the waters.

As the day went on i got better and better and much more accurate! The weeks of practice payed off some!

Notes of the day:
The water is COLD! like high 40s if i would venture a guess and it's gin clear!
tons of stone flys on the rocks
i did see a few trout rise and take something off the surface, i wasn't quite sure what the flys they were eating were but i saw multiple surface strikes

I use to fish the BeaveKill a lot before moving to AZ, great River, and some really nice fish, I can remember one year we were up there in early April we were fishing off of Ice Jams that lined the side of the river.... Cold!!!!
