Default Natchaug River in Eastern Connecticut

The Natchaug continues to show strong hatches as the flows lessen a bit. A blizzard of spinners, caddis and sulphurs greeted our guest last evening who managed several very nice rainbows. This trophy trout stream should hold through June...a burst of rain soon will certainly help, although the larger, deeper pools are holding BIG fish currently. As our guest, a Cape Cod resident, pointed out, "this is the closest serious trout stream to the Cape."

...a very nice evening with rising fish from afternoon on.
