Default First tugs of 2012

Fished Northern New York in the rain, yesterday for landlocked salmon. A great day, swinging streamers and dodging ice flows:

I don't care if it's a sardine...Still a darn good looking fish.

Gotta give some of us Southern boys a pass when identifying Yankee fish.

Dave, consider that pass granted! I wouldn't know a spotted bass from a largemouth if it bit me on the butt.

Right off the cuff I thought that was a brown myself. I caught as many as a guy traveling from Lycoming County PA. could find and they were pretty bright. Good to see you're getting some early fishing in,

Looks like that hook was planted right about where it should be! Nice to see you out there, even in the poor weather!

Thanks for the good words, guys!
Rick, there are only 3 rivers in northern NY with landlocked runs in from Lake Champlain. This is the most northerly of those rivers. It is urban fishing, to be sure.
