Default Westfield River ~ Pork Barrel access?

I plan on visiting the Westfield River and I want to fish the Pork Barrel section. I went there once many years ago and I do not recall exactly how we went. I have no problem with the hike it. Should I go from the route 9 area and hike downstream or go up from route 143? I assume there are some paths that go along or into the river, I just need to know how to find them. Any suggestions are appreciated.
