Default Re: Show Us Your Nets

After today I have another sad net story; my folding Frabill net was stolen streamside while a friend and I stopped for lunch on the tailgate. We watched a guy fish while we ate; he was out of sight when he left the water near where we left the net; he and it were gone by the time we finished our lunch

I got the net at Cabelas a couple years ago but I've not seen another like it; it's not the triangular shape, more square and larger. I couldn't find a pic but I have a short clip of it:

Well that sure sucks, sorry to hear the bad news! Best of luck finding a replacement.

A few years ago my oldest son and his buddy were fishing the Box Canyon stretch of the Henry's Fork. He had just netted a fish for his friend when the friend slipped and fell into the current. My son dropped the net and rushed to save his buddy and my net was lost forever. I hope someone found it and is using it today.

Thanks to all who have posted here. I'm sure there are many more nets to show off. Let's see them!

Kelly.

I've got a big old Brodin Folding net for carp, its boring and not fun to look at but works dang good.

My trout net is a little 20 dollar special from.....i dont know where. It was nice but had fine mesh which wasnt too bad at snagging flies but when it did, oh boy!! apparently though one fishing I woke up after a night of moderate adult beverage consumption ( ) and discovered my bag had a big melted hole in it. Hmmm??? Turns out that at some point overnight I decided I wanted to dry my net out and set it close to the fire....which almost immediatly puked some ambers which landed on it. AH HA!! To end my ramble here, I cut the mesh off and got a brodin replacement ghost bag and sewed it up with some 30lb backing and we are good to go now!!

Oh i found a picture pre bag melt!!

Click the image to open in full size. it was freaking cold!! haha
