Default Simms Headwaters Sling

Anyone have it (either size)? I've been looking for a sling for a while and the Simms caught my eye. Not really sure whether to get the regular or large size. How much can you fit in each? How do you like it? Thanks!

Had one but returned it.
Reason why:
When loaded it was aquard and large for me.
There was little padding between the back and contents, feel it on you back.
Zippers needed two hands to close.
Was the lightest made fabric of the models. Patigona orvis, Simms and Vedavoo (did not see but 1000 cordura is strong)
Pros:
Lots of room
Large/ wide strap
?????

Suggestion try to find a store or stores that carry them and try (bring stuff and load)

I've been looking at the Patagonia too, as well as the Orvis Guide. One thing with the Patagonia is the main compartment looks to have a smaller opening compared to the others. Do you ever have issues with that?

I have the Simms Large and really like it. It can be a little bulky loaded up, but it's been nice to have the extra storage on a few of the outings I've been on. I haven't had the zipper issues that wjl talked about and there seems to be plenty of padding in the back to me. My shoulder was a little soar a couple of times when I had it really loaded down, just from the weight I managed to stuff in it, but it's way easier on my lower back than waist or lumbar style packs. At ordinary loads, it is comfortable enough to forget it's there while fishing. I do wish the large compartment had the water bottle sleeve like the small pack and I wish the tabs to dock your retractor to where above the pockets instead of alongside them, but all in all I am pleased with my purchase.

I have the small. I have fished with mine a couple times. I really like it. I upgraded from a fishpond double hauler which was heavy. There is only one place to put a net and I could see it getting in the way if you are right handed. I'm left handed so it doesn't really bother me. Holds a lot of stuff and I like the Velcro patch on the outside to add tippet or a fly patch if needed. I was worried about it being hard to slide around but it's not bad. All in all it's a pretty good bag. I looked at the patagonia bag too. It was really nice. They were very similar and I have have simms g3 waders and guide boots so I went with it. Can't go wrong with simms.
