I pretty much do the same as "Jimmie", I will hike several miles in the Great Smoky Mountains all year long. I own a pair of Korker guide wading boots which are real light in weight; they have interchangeable soles so I can change from hiking soles to whatever river soles I need in seconds. I carry them in a small back pack with my water/food along with a long sleeve shirt incase the temps drop. For all my fishing gear I use a Sage waist pack (sling pack) instead of a vest. I try to stay as light as possible when it comes to hiking or even fishing locally. You see all these guys with 50 pounds of gear on hiking in like they are going to war…..lol….the funny thing is they don’t even use half the fishing gear they have on , all for looks.
