Default Orvis day at Bob Marriots 4/10/10 and Orvis Suerf Class 4/11/10

Orvis is doing an Orvis Day at Bob Marriots Sat April 10th from 9:30 am to 5 pm. They are bring in some new gear and a line of their two newest fly rods and reel. First 50 to come a try out one of the rods get a free Orvis Hydros hat. There will be destination seminars and fly tyers on hand doing demos. They will also have the new wadders that are"sonic welded", meaning no stiching for your seams. Basicly each panel is metled together. These waders are really cool, and do not cost an arm and a leg like other cutting edge waders. There will also be a casting competition (course) for prizes. Below are the seminar times

ALL DAY EVENTS
• 9:00am Beginner Casting - Learn how to master the art of fly-casting.
• 10:00am Hutch Hutchinson, FFF Master Instructor, 25 year Guide and Orvis Regional Manager, will help fix your “buddies” casting problems.
• 10:30am Conway Bowman - will show you the fresh and saltwater fishing opportunities in the San Diego area.
• 11:30am Bill and Vannessa Downs, managers of northern California’s premier fly-fishing lodge, The Clearwater Lodge, will show you the amazing fisheries they guide.
• 12:30pm Roberto Pandolfi, owner of the famous Rio Manso Lodge in Argentina will tantalize you with his breathtaking lodge and fisheries.
• 1:30pm Spencer Higa of Falcon’s Ledge Lodge will share secrets about fishing the Uinta Mountains in Utah.
• 2:30pm Hutch Hutchinson will show you how to improve your casting from beginners to experts with a 4-station casting course.
• 3:30pm Casting Competition; Open to all non-industry (or professional) anglers.

In conjunction to the Orvis day at the fly shop; Orvis set up a begginers Fly Fishing the Surf class. The class will be held on Sunday April 11th. The class will be held at Huntington Beach from 7am to 10am (or longer). The cost is $45 for on the water learning. There are only 10 spots available. For all of you guys new to the idea of fly fishing in the surf; this will be a great class ( I got gear for at least 5 people without gear). I will be teaching you guys as much as I can from reading the water, casting and timing in the surf, and fishing tactics. Basicly I will try and give you all on my knowledege in fly fishing the surf for the morning session. Orvis Rep. and Master fly caster Hutch Hutchinson will be there helping everyone with their casting on the water too. For those who may be interested he will do a short session on using the Spey rod and switch style fly rods in the surf. Sign up for the class at Bob Marriots.
