Post Trippin' BRIDGEPORT Sept. 1-2...

Spent a day (eve. and morn.) fishing the East Walker River with my son, for his birthday...here is what it looked like:

“MOO’s BLUE MIDGE” # 18…

HOOK: Gamakatsu C12B Scud Hook, #18-#20

THREAD: Tiemco 16/0, Black

ABDOMEN: Blue Krystal Flash

TAIL: Pearl Midge Flash

RIB: Wapsi wire, x-sm, silver

THORAX: Purple Iridescent Peacock Heat (Spirit River)

BEAD: Silver Tungsten, sized to hook

I tied a bunch of these up for my boy to use...this is what happened...

I had handed him my rod which was rigged with one of the above midges as a dropper. I was standing in the water talking to Michael's sister, Ally ( who was being MOSQUITO BAIT )

... when we heard a yell from the pool about 15 yards above us. I looked up to see my son stumbling down the river, banging into the stream side bushes...He yelled at me, "Dad, get out your net!!!"...So, I did ...this is what jumped in...

THREAD: Gordon Griffith’s 14/0, Red, White

TAIL: 1 Strand Pearl Krystal Flash

ABDOMEN:White Thread

OVERABDOMEN: Hareline Stalcup’s Micro Tubing, Blue

RIB: Wapsi Silver Wire, X-SM

WING: Grizzly Krystal Flash Black and White, 3 strands, cut short

THORAX: Arizona Diamond Hair Pearl Green or Blue

BEAD: Silver, 5/64 or 1/16

But I just couldn't tear my son away from the spot where he had scored the night before...
