SF bay area. How about you.
Grew up hear all my life. As a kid we had a cabin in arnold caiif. Always looked forward to the opener with my father and grandfather. We would leave Friday after work drive up to Arnold.that could not sleep. My father was a spin type guy, but grandfather fly fished. He fished old bamboo rods he picked up over seas in the navy. As I grew older it was just me and my grandfather that only went. He taught me a lot and have been into it. Let's hear some Moore stories.
Keep it strong and fih on!

One of my favorite hide away's is the Silver Fork of the American River. When you get far enough up there, its quiet and you can get away from people. The trout may not be that big, but they are way worth the trip

Popular options are the West and East Forks of the Carson River off of Highways 88 and 89. Alpine County stocks the forks heavily for the opener. If wild fish are your targets, you can hike below Hangman's Bridge on the EF Carson south of Markleeville on Highway 89. Keep in mind that section follows wild trout rules: catch and release only, single barbless artificial hooks.
