Thumbs up Re: For Sale - Property Located on the Petite Cascapedia River

If the Canadian dollar keeps dropping to the US dollar (94.5 cents to $1. US @ today rate) this property will be a super bargain.

Well it has been some time since I have been on this site. The winter was long, cold and lots of snow. It was a great winter for winter sports enthusiast (skiing, snowmobiling etc.).

The deer had a hard winter with the snow so deep making it hard for the deer to get food, a number of them died for the lack of food. A small herd of deer stayed around our property all year.

The rivers are all clear of ice and at the present a very good run of water. So far we have not had a freshet or high water. There is still a chance that we could have a bud freshet as the back country still has loads of snow yet to melt.

Within a month most of the rivers in the area will be open for Atlantic Salmon and Sea Trout fishing. For now tight lines to allhttp://www.theflyfishingforum.com/forums/images/smilies/fishing.gif

Today May 20/14 the river is very high and the Mercier road along the Petite Cascapedia river is closed because of high water from the river overflowing it's banks. With rain the remainder of this week the river will remain high. In less than 2 weeks will be the opening for Atlantic Salmon fishing and if the rivers maintain this flow, the rivers will to high to fish. The high water flow will be good to bring loads of fresh fish into the rivers.

Atlantic Salmon fishing begins today May 1 on the Grand Cascapedia, Petite Cascapedia and Bonaventure Rivers. The river water levels are high, cold and some turbidity but ok to fish with large wet flies or streamers. Tight lines.
