Default A great day on a not so secret tailwater.

So I drove west from Boulder on Sunday, with a friend of mine from florida who was in town to catch his first trout while there was snow on the ground. Leaving the house around 530am we got to the river around 930-10 after a quick breakfast in town. We were a bit skeptical because the weather called for snow and 12degrees all day but we figured we would tough through it. The weather couldnt have been more wrong, 25-30 and sunny with very little wind!

We walked down to the river and immediately saw TONS of fish rising to a pretty thick midge hatch (this was around 1130). We ended up with 35-40 fish between the two of us, with more than half on dry flies.

Here is a pretty good hint of where it was.

Man, what a great day on the river! Thanks for sharing.

Reminds me of the South Fork of the Snake near my home.

Kelly.

Congrats on the great day on the water! Boy that snow looked deep getting to the water but those fish made it worth while.
