Smile Eagle River suggestions

I've recently moved to Eagle, CO and I'm finally getting out this weekend to go fishing!! Has anyone fished the Eagle before? I'm planning on heading in the river right above the Colorado river because they have public access there. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Just got off the river. Fished all day yesterday and part of this morning. Fish tandem flies and go small - size 18 would be big. Most fish took size 20 & 22 midge and smaller nymphs. Black and natural were the ticket for me.

I fished up river in Avon / Eagle. I drove to the Eagle Diner for dinner last night and the river just 10 miles downriver from where I fished was very cloudy and off color. You may be better off up river. Access is limited but available. Good luck!

That might be locked up John I spoke with the Eagle fire Marshall yesterday and he said it was "Capped" in town(Eagle). The closer to Avon you get the more open usually. I sent PM on locations and flies..

Put up a report I'm Looking forward to some Pre runoff action soon
