Default North Platte, Miracle Mile, Wyoming

Hello everyone. I'm not a fly fisherman by any means, mostly bass guy here. But I'm going to have an opportunity to fish while I'm in Wyoming in a few weeks. I will be camping very near the "Miracle Mile" and I understand I shouldn't pass this opportunity up. I've never been fly fishing, I'll just have my usual bass rods. Will I have a decent shot at catching some fish? Any tips or suggestions would be great! Feel free to shoot me a private message if you want to tell me where your honey hole is!

I think you would be fine with a spinning rod and some mepps. There are quite a few purists out there, but quite a few fly fishermen spin fish from time to time, myself included.

Awesome, hopefully I won't look too out of place.

Does anyone have suggestions for what part of the "mile" to try? Not looking for specifics, just general parts, like deep pools, undercut banks or fast rapids. I'm really new at this game.

No problem. I've been doing a bit of research and it looks like the browns might be spawning about that time on the mile. From what I gathered, it's not really ethical to fish for them while they're on their redds, but I can target rainbows which should be hanging downstream from the brown's redds looking for eggs. I'm going to try to fish for them with artificial eggs and see what happens. Does anyone have any input on that strategy? I gathered bits and pieces of it from other articles online so I'm hoping it will work.
