Default Dreaming of Fishing in Wyoming

For those of you that dream about fishing in Wyoming this site should wet your appetite. Check out the "Photos" drop down menu at the top of the page. There are two slide shows showing fishing in Wyoming.
Also on the right is a nice slide show on fishing the Green River below Flaming Gorge Reservoir, UT.

That did wet my appetite Larry. Recently I saw a map that showed the major part of Yellowstone in Wyoming. I'm ready to do some WY. fishing. Bighorn or Yellowstone ??? that is the question. OR other???

Hi Everyone,

Larry, thanks for sharing that information.

If anyone goes to the Green below Flaming Gorge there is fishing with out a float. There is a trail along the river and gives you access to a lot of water. It takes some hiking but is worth the effort. I like to drive to the Little Hole take out and hike back up the river. There is fishing right there below the Little Hole take out.

You use to be able to rent a raft at the Air Port and the prices includes picking you up at Little Hole. There is about seven miles of river from Little Hole back up to the put in at the Dam.

Launching at the Dam can be a pain. There is no parking at the take out. You drive down and launch and then have to take the trailer back up to the top for parking. The Rangers keep things moving and don't let you spend much time at the launch. So you need to have everything ready to go before you get to the launch. Everything should be in the boat and everyone should have their waders and boots on and ready to go. During the Summer this can be hectic but well run by the Rangers. It is not my favorite place to launch.

Frank

Frank: That was some very good advice on the dam launch site during the summer.
