Default Advice near Golden, CO

I joined the forum recently, because I am headed to Golden, CO in early October to try a little flyfishing. I have fished here in Tennessee, and fly fished the Smokies and area lakes, and also done a little bit of fly fishing on the St. Mary's river in B.C. But it has been a few years, and I am taking along a friend who lives in Golden and wants to learn.

I am trying to find a place with lots of room for him to practice! Even a lake or pond might work to start with to get him used to casting, so if anyone has suggestions I'd appreciate it.
