Sadly, lots of the bridges, including several historic covered bridges, didn't make it.

I'm happy to report that the one in W. Arlington, VT, (20 minutes from me) immortalized (to my way of thinking) by artist Ogden Pleissner in his watercolor, "The Battenkill at Benedict's Crossing" sustained enough damage to close it for awhile, but not enough to kill it. Tough damn bridge.
