Default what happened to the rainbows in Colorado

Just got home from Colorado trip for the second time this year and out of two trips I have only caught 1 rainbow trout. Rainbows used to be the majority of my catch now it seems the only thing I can catch are browns. I fished the Arkansas above Salina, The S. Platte near Lake George and Tarryall Creek near Tarryall. Is the whirling disease getting all the rainbows?

The South Platte has been hammered by whirling disease since the early 1990's. The Arkansas and Tarryall have always been almost entirely brown trout water.

I fished the Eagle this morning and two of the 13 fish I caught were nice rainbows. Two were whitefish, one was a gorgeous 18" cutthroat, and the rest were browns.
