Default Where to fish within 2 hours of Fort Collins, Co?

Hey guys, I have saturday off And I'm ready for a road trip with the wife to try a new river this season, within a couple of hours of Fort Collins. Any suggestions? Been fishing the Poudre with some success but wanna get into some bigger fish. The Poudre is finally coming into shape, been fishing nymphs and have had a little dry action. If you want some more info hit me up. I want to go try some different water. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated...

Bob, You might try the North Platte (upper stretches), Six Mile gap access or higher or some of the mountain streams in the Snowies (French Creek, Libby Creek, Douglas Creek) or the North Fork of the Encampment River. If you have a float tube or pontoon, check out Delaney Buttes lakes west of Walden, CO. Also, if you haven't seen this blog site you might want to take a look, there are some nice sized trout on the Poudre if you know how to fish for them.

Yup, last year my buddy drug a 21" rainbow out of the canyon. I was stuck catching lousy 13-16" rainbows all day

Another vote for the North Platte. If you aren't familiar with it this is a good guide to the North Platte here.

Why not chase some fall browns and the bows that follow them feeding on the eggs? And maybe even a koke!

Blue River, Dream Stream, Wolford, Shadow Mtn.

Might be a little far, but this time of the year there's some action heating up with the spawning browns and kokes, might as well go chase some of them instead of sticking close to home and fishing the same waters...
