Default Did anyone catch anything over the weekend in the Rockies?

Spent several hours on the vrain (above longmont dam and below button rock) and on big t Saturday and did not see the first fish (granted i only stopped in 1 spot on the big t)...

Anyone else have any luck?

I fished the Blue and Clear Creek...

LOTS of fish!

Sorry, don't mean to rub it in...I've never had a banner day on the Vrain and I haven't fished the Big T since college...

Umm... you were fishing in Colorado? I spent a few hours this morning on Bear Creek, many fish. Browns and a few nice rainbows.

Where are you fishing on clear creek? I've wanted to try the section on 6 between Golden and Idaho Springs but not sure how the run off is through that section.

I hiked Button Rock sleepy lion trail Saturday AM and flows were up, they were letting a ton of water out of the reservoir. Just based on that I went in the afternoon to the BigT. It was slowish but I caught 8 in 3hrs (long distance released another 7 or 8 ) I did ok on a size 22 BWO , and a size 18 BWO barr emerger. My buddy I was with was hammering them on a size 18 red copper john.

I was going to hike button rock then go backto fish it but it looked to off color to be productive that day so dont kick yourself . If there was more stonefly preveance there I would have fished it but size 18-22 stuff in off color water is rough.

And as Vitesse said Ive never had a banner day on the St Vrain either. Ive only heard real good things about that river in the south end of the park.

I fished the Arkansas River below Leadville on Friday. It wasn't on fire, but from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM I had a fish on every third cast. Nothing big, but everything was 10" to 14"
