Default Colorado River Headwaters

Fished the Colorado River all morning yesterday with mixed results. Started at State Bridge at dawn and it was the Colorado River I've known all year. One Beautiful Brown after another (see pic). By the time I got up to Radium (mid morning), things cooled significantly. Did manage to land a couple more nice browns. By the time I got to Pumphouse, things were dead.

Has anybody fished the parshall stretch lately? And, are there any Rainbows left is this part of the river, or did whirling disease get em all?

I refuse to fish within sight of an outlet mall, no matter how big the fish are. Well, except...

I am jealous, I want to fish that whole State Bridge , Eagle/Gore in the next few weeks. What was the hotticket fly today ?

I havent fished Parshall, did hit pumphouse a few weeks ago and nothing but Browns. My buddy did catch a few Rainbows I think.

I was nymphing all morning and if I had to choose, I'd say Copper Johns were hitting hardest.

All I can add is that I have fished just east of the Rifle Range on 40 (Paul Gilbert Rec Area), and never have I caught a rainbow - always brown trout in that section.
