Default Hit the Arkansas and 11 mile canyon last weekend.

Fished the Arkansas below Buena Vista last Friday, Saturday, then fished the South Platte at 11 mile canyon on Sunday.
Had a great time, better fishing at 11 mile in my opinion but those browns from the Arkansas just fight more!

Have been fly fishing for only a couple months, but I am hooked!

Thanks guys, I've been lurking for a while and reading a lot on here.

Headed back out this weekend, so maybe I'll post some more photos next week.

I love the Ark valley and notice your short sleeve. Great place, great time!

What location is the picture of you wade fishing, with 4(!!!) other folks in the background within 200-300 yds?

It has the look of 11 Mile, but I have not been there since 2002 +/-. If it is getting that crowded now I am very surprised, back then it was very off-the-radar and did not get much pressure IMO.

Could be a good option in the coming weeks given that runoff is starting. We are going to float the Ark between BV and Salida this weekend, and if it is off color on Saturday maybe I will stop in 11 Mile on the way home Sunday. Hoping to get 2 float days on the Ark though, fingers crossed.

That was 11 mile. More people there each weekend. What surprised me was yesterday (Monday), I had a three day weekend so went there and couldn't believe how many people. Almost as many as Saturday.

A few more pics from this weekend.

I also fished the Dream Stream a little. Very low water and biggest fish out of 4 was maybe 12".
