Streamers in the N. Platte

I am planning on heading up to the mile in June. I figure I should pick up some streamers, but don't know what to buy. I am mostly a nymph fisherman, so streamers aren't a big part of my arsenal. In the past I have just used conehead olive/sparkle buggers and black slump busters. Suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I would also use some hot head leeches and pine squirrel leeches in natural and tan.

I second that, but would also snag some Thin Mints and N.Platte Spiders.

Have fun!

I have had good success on the larger fish with some of the Kelly Gallop patterns - especially the sex dungeon. I don't get a ton of fish but those I do land are quality!

Good advice so far. Platte river special is a must on the mile,or the platte river in general. This time of the year you will do better with midges, caddies, and pdms.
That being said streamers will work on cloudy days, and dry flies are another option at this time of the year. Don't forget about hopper patterns. Check out the north platte lodge for the scoop on what is the hot ticket for the Mile, the reef, and every thing in the middle.:)

If you like throwing streamers you will need some vanilla buggers as well.

You are more than welcome to come along trout champ. I live in Cheyenne, so you can just head straight north, and I can drive from there.
