Robert Younghanz, aka 'The Bug Guy', who is a well-known entomologist, guide, and flyfishing guru, will be presenting a seminar about how to identify aquatic life so that you can match the hatch more effectively and catch more trout.
Entomology is quite possibly the most misunderstood aspect of fly fishing, and is intimidating to new anglers, as well as seasoned ones. Walk into any fly shop and the bins hold thousands of combinations of patterns and sizes. Robert's seminar will help you understand why we tie the flies we do, and will help clear up some of the mysteries of bug life, but also whittle down your fly selection, so that you can focus on the fish instead of your flybox.
In addition to seminars, Robert is a fixture at outdoor expos, Trout Unlimited
magazine, The Fishful Thinker with Chad LaChance
, and many more. He also works at Angler's Covey
in Colorado Springs. To round out his resume, Robert teaches entomology at CSU and FRCC. Recently, he published a 2-DVD set
covering the full-range of entomology found on our local rivers and lakes.
