Thanks again everyone. I think we'll stay closer to Crazies and the gallatin national forest. We have a week so we should be able to try a good bit of water without being too overwhelmed. I guess I'll just have to make this an annual trip to hit all the spots I want. Maybe get a job out there...anyone hiring???

I'll post a post trip recap, but thanks again to all who chipped in!

Cheers!

Hey Yonder,

Haven't been to Yellowstone. Only been to souteast Wyoming and Colorado in those parts. Been waiting to get to MT for a while.

As far as rock creek, I was talking about the one in Gallatin natl forest that flows to the Yellowstone I believe.

OK........If you find yourself in Red Lodge, climb the mountain on hwy 212 to the top. Beartooth pass tops out at 10947 feet, with incredible views. You will fully see why they call it the rocky mountains!!

I was just over the Beartooth pass yesterday with family.

There is a grizzly near the road eating a dead cow on the Clark Fork side of the pass.
I guess he/she has been there for a couple days.

It takes a long time to eat a whole cow, even when you're a big bear and this one was BIG. Pretty cool looking animal, probably has really bad breath right now.
