I will never know what possesses me to go out and try to find a quiet place during such a crazy weekend.
We headed out late Saturday for the upper reaches of a nice little river that had a mudslide down low which made the lower river off colored. Fishing was probably still good but we headed up.
The road is a fairly difficult 4x4 rd but that did not deter every person in the world with a 4x4 to try and get up there. Made it to a pull out in the road about 330 which served as our campsite, as it's very tight in this canyon. You can see how close it all is.
The water was flowing nicely and clear as a bell. Certainly more water in the system than I had expected. We rigged up with standard fare; Stimmy on Ruth's rod and a little tungsten bead bugger on mine. Piper was investigating every possible thing.
Action started immediately and lasted till we left on Sunday. We saw several nice fish who refused the surface bug and but there were still plenty willing to eat. I think the system easily carries fish to 16" but we only saw up to 12".
Ruth with a nice Brookie.
This piece of water is absolutely stunning...here are some shots that give you an idea of how awesome.
Beautiful little wild fish! Mostly Cutt's but some bows, hybrids and brookies.
Hope you all had a chance to get out and take a ton of pics this weekend...looking at them and remembering sure beats the heck out of tending to the pile of work on my desk!
