Downloaded an access map. If I get time before I head to the Keys on 22nd I'll drive over and check it out. May just be the first clear water once runoff starts. Think the Snake will be blown out well into June, so this may be the place for kickin off the season.

I'm thinking ahead to when I get back from the Keys. Wondering if you would be interested in hitting the Teton June 6th. It's the first Friday in June. Thought I'd see if you could swing it before I hunt down anybody else.

Hi Dave,
That sounds like a great idea, go ahead and pencil me in(can I bring my wife?)
It almost worked perfectly for a guy trip, she was planning on going to Disneyland with the daughter for a graduation trip, but she changed that for the following week.

How will runoff effect the upper Teton?
How long of a float is the upper section?
What about bugs? I'm sure your gonna be rippin streamers!

Absolutely bring the Mrs. I think the runoff will not be bad as it is a slower meadow spring creek type water. We'll have to see!!
As for bugs go to this link and scroll to the bottom for a hatch chart.

Nice link with some great pics!

That should be fun. I asked my wife and she said she would love to come along, she makes a really good sandwich.

Let's keep in touch. Thank you for the invite.

I'm hoping to get over there to do a scout on put ins and take outs before I leave for the Keys. Let you know what I find. If you don't want to haul your boat up we can use mine no problem. But if you come up for the whole weekend you will want your boat I recon.

Dave,
What are some of the roads that have the access points? I would like to look on 'Google earth' and get a feel for it.

You can't miss them on Google earth. There are only three bridges before the canyon stretch. The first road you see stops short of the river and is the wading access point. After that you are looking for the first three bridges. The first being put in only and the last being take out only. The first bridge is south west of Driggs, the second is a little north west, last one is to the north west towards Tetonia.

Go to Idaho game and fish site. Click on fishing and then click on Access guide for a map of river access. You want the upper Snake region access map.

First fish I ever caught on a dry fly was on the Teton last summer near Rainey Creek campround. It is very picturesque over there with the Tetons looming near. I can't wait to hear about your trip guys. I really like smaller rivers like the Teton.
