Default online hatch report for Northern NM??

I tried searching thru a few local bookstores on any way to find out any reports for season hatching dates specific to the northern New Mexico area, and also i searched thru this forum, but didnt find anything....

I'm gonna be in the Northern part of New Mexico much of this winter and most of next spring/summer and i'm trying to get as much info as possible for the streams in that area. I was wondering if you guys knew if it was possible to look up online for up-to-date hatching reports.

sorry if thats a stupid question haha...

thanks,

John

You will probably have better luck searching the local fly shop web sites.
Here is a link from Duranglers that has some general information that might be of interest to you.

thanks alot, that's exactly what i was looking for!

I got some other great info from some guys I know that work at a place called the 4UR ranch on the Western side of CO, but i figured i'd get more accurate info.

BTW, if any of you plan on taking a "family vacation" with fly fishing being your real motive, i highly suggest checking them out. i think their website is 4urranch.com

some of the best fishing i've experienced...
and they've got lots of stuff for your kids to occupy themselves with while you spend your days on the water

Yes, it's quite steep of a price. I lucked out big time and went with a close friend and his family (16 people total) and was able to split the week's cost between my friend and I.

Lambster, on the subject of Elk hair. I am a noob(at best) when it comes to fly tying and the knowledge surrounding it. Is synthetic Elk hair made for fly tying, and if so, is there any real difference between the two?

just curious.

Now thats a dang good question! For the most part we use as much natural materials for our Dry flies but our Streamers and Nymphs are made from synthetics as well as metallics that are more durable...... some companies will mix antron with natural materials which works great but I've never used synthetic Elk Hair... please our visit site!
