Default Colorado River 2/3/09

With work being so slow, the boss let my brother and I take the day off and go fishing. We decided to go and float west of Glenwood Springs. It was a beautiful day with air temps around 50. The water was very clear and low, but still duable in an older drift boat. We did not see any other boats of fisherman the entrie day. We had to work to get for our fish, most were grouped together and we would hook up multible times in specific areas. We probly boated 12-15 fish between three of us, and missed just as many. Only few small browns and the majority were bows. We a caught two large flannel mouth suckers, and few nice whites as well. Most productive fly was a prince, but eggs and midges also worked well too.
This river, where unfrozen, is in awsome shape right now. Because this section is lower in on the mighty CO, it gets muddy very quickly from any rain, so you got to hit when its right.

Tight Lines!!!!!!!!!!!!

This a buddy who came along, i love the fin in this pic.

ColoradoKid: Thanks for sharing the great photos!
I've floated from New Castle to Silt a couple times, what part of the CO river did you float?
