Default Colorado Lake Fishing

Finally the spring fronts have slowed down (I think we have had rain, snow or very high winds the last 6 weekends) and I made it out to Delaney Lakes for some fishing. The wx was absolutely perfect and I met a guy at the boat ramp and we ended up fishing together (my regular fishing partner is back east for a month), turns out he primarily fishes with a spin cast rig, but it was nice to have someone to talk to while fishing. I ended up catching 4 trout, one brown and three rainbows all on chironomids and scud patterns (John Barr's Net Builder) using a long leader. My fishing partner for the day had a few strikes tossing mepps spinners but didn't catch anything. Maybe after seeing me catch fish he will consider fly fishing! We can only hope!
