Default Re: lots of questions

Lots of questions back at cha! Where are you thinking of going and when? I'd definately stick to Redfish as Fly fishing Mako is super specialized but what is driving those two choices for you? The rod, and line will be fine for most reds but what kind of reel do you have? Leaders for Reds are usually tapered and run from 7.5 to 9 ft. A 12 lb test tippet is about right.
