I fished the Socal surf a lot but when I moved to San Francisco and tried the surf up there....I quit. The Norcal surf is dangerous and cold! I usually only wet waded in the south but didn't like the idea of wearing waders in the cold, dangerous north.

Good point there. Was very surprised to find the water in/around the Bay area was only a couple degrees 'warmer' than that of Puget Sound.
